Winning In Adverse Situations - Go DAWGS!!!
This afternoon the University of Georgia football team had a tremendous win on the road. They played the 23rd ranked Missouri and won in grand fashion. It was a shut out at 34 to ZERO. The home team was absolutely stunned. Everyone (including the UGA players) expected a much closer game. But it never happened.
So what made this game so special? UGA's star running back, Todd Gurley, is on a national stage for an alledged NCAA rules infraction. The announcement to the news media was made Thursday afternoon to a stunned bunch of fans. And just two days before the next road game. Was this the end of UGA football 2014 season? Could the team survive without its star running back? The media swirl was wild.
But today the team came together like no other and surprised the nation with its upset win. After listening to some of the players comments after the game, I came to the conclusion that the team overcame a truly adverse situation. They could have held their heads down, but the entire staff, players and coaches stepped up in unusual fashion.
Today you may be faced with some unusual adversity in your real estate business. Maybe a transaction you REALLY need to close just fell apart. Maybe your business partner up and quit without warning. Who knows.
What's important is how you handle the adversity. Do you fold or go back to your goals and objectives and re-build or re-start your business? Be like those Bull Dawgs today and make it happen. Remember your past victories...the moments where you have already overcome other adverse situations. Talk to your mentor and draw wisdom, strength and encouragement to take the next step. Most important - remember your WHY. Why you got into this business in the first place. You can do it. You can win.
I speak from experience. I know what adversity is, and I know how to press towards the mark. I know how to win. I know how to step back and take time to think about my 'WHY'. And I am Bull Dawg Alumni. Go DAWGS!!!!
