Dan McGinnis has put together a formula for good success that we can use in areas besides real estate. So much of what we do in real estate and how we perceive the real estate market is developed in our attitudes affected by our beliefs and expectations. Do we expect to get great new ready, willing and able buyers day in and day out? Have you ever noticed, you are about as happy as you make up your mind to be? Do you remember who made that quote? Do you know people who seem to have problems all of the time? Kind of like if they didn't have bad luck they would not have any luck at all? It is really amazing how just by how a person is thinking it can change their entire outlook on life.
Just last week I was listening to a young man in his 20's speak at one of the Toastmaster clubs I am a member of, and he recommended at the beginning of every morning and at the end of the day before going to sleep to name 10 positive events, accomplishments, or things that were going on in your life.
I recognize (when I think about it) every day I can feel good about the real estate market, I can feel confident about what I am doing and working to accomplish in my life, as long as I BELIEVE things are going good, they are going good.
ATTITUDE = BELIF = EXPECTATIONS
Approximately 20 years ago I was a member of Sales Professionals for a few years, a club that met at 7:01AM every Thursday morning in Phoenix Arizona. Ralph Andres was one of the key members, Ralph because of his business was able to bring in key speakers often to speak for about 20 minutes. To open the meeting we had the: pledge of allegence to the the flag, and then every member (about 23) each stood and gave their name, occupation, and a POSITIVE THOUGHT FOR THE DAY. After hearing over 20 positive quotes, we could have gone home and could say mission accomplished, but no, it went on for another 45 minutes!
One of our members was: Cavett Robert the founder of National Speakers Association. Cavett has since passed away some years ago. Sales Professionals does not exist any more and has not for years.
